"Chief Joseph" Pendleton Blanket (Twin)
First woven in the 1920s, this USA-made wool blanket has been one of Pendleton's most popular designs ever since. Chief Joseph led the Nez Perce tribe native to northeastern Oregon in the late 1800s. Widely admired for protecting his people and speaking the truth, he is honored with this design, symbolizing bravery. Bold arrowheads represent the chief’s courage, strength and integrity. Reverses for two different looks. Woven in Pendleton's Pacific Northwest mills and softly napped.

1963 Lyndon B. Johnson Cabinet Meeting Original Print

This historical photo is an original print by White House Photographer Cecil W. Stoughton from November 23, 1963 when an emergency cabinet meeting was held by Lyndon B. Johnson immediately following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Each cabinet member name and title is printed on the back of the photograph, including James K. Carr, Under Secretary for the Department of Interior. Redding native, James K. Carr, was called upon to assist in effecting the painful transition of Presidential power and authority to Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson. Carr stayed on duty for President Johnson until June of 1964 when he moved back to the west coast.
