As we celebrate this monumental year, I'd like to take time to thank you, the individuals who have and continue to shape this phenomenal park.
Since the establishment of the National Park Service 100 years ago, countless individuals have joined the effort to preserve our nation's natural and cultural treasures. Today, more than 100 employees work in dozens of fields to keep Lassen Volcanic the well-polished gem that it is. In 2015, nearly 300 volunteers donated their time and expertise to the park. And our partners, Lassen Association, Lassen Park Foundation, and California Guest Services have consistently provided support and services that directly impact the park and its visitors.
As we celebrate 100 years of Lassen Volcanic National Park and the National Park Service, we thank you—staff, partners, volunteers, and visitors—for the important role each of you plays as a champion of this, and every national park.
