"Interweave" Jewelry Set
"Interweave"- necklace, bracelet, and earring set. Handcrafted by California artists, this necklace, bracelet, and earring set is made from polymer clay, glass seed beads and copper wire. Representing the juxtaposition of humans interacting with the natural world in the Lassen area, this jewelry broadly references the indigenous people of the land and the surroundings. The focal areas invoke a basket weave texture with motifs and colors reminiscent of the local Maidu, and the finished surfaces of the backs of the pieces hint at volcanic lava simmering beneath Lassen's surface. The central necklace pendant is accented with a hand carved medallion marking the 100th Anniversary of the creation of Lassen Volcanic National Park as a place of natural wonder.
